Pauline’s New ‘Do

27 Dec

My favorite sister dyed her hair a beautiful red.  Brings out her eyes.  She let me snap a few pictures before she went to work tonight.  Beautiful!

Vince’s Ride

Vince was nice enough to let me shoot him and his motorcycle this Christmas.  Here’s one of my favorites.

Fall Day at Iwo Jima.

10 Oct

Yesterday I went on a photo adventure for my photography class.  This week’s stop was at Iwo Jima Memorial around dusk.  The photos are of the surrounding landscape and nearby Arlington Cemetery.

Sunny Seattle.

About a week ago I went on a work trip to Tulalip Reservation, just outside of Seattle.  While I didn’t get pics of the reservation, I did get the opportunity to spend a day sightseeing with my colleague (and work spouse) Jen.  We took a walk through Pike’s Place, went to the original Starbucks, and took in the beauty of Puget Sound.  The first evening we were there, it was a bit foggy.  But the next day, there was nothing but bright blue skies.  It was hard to choose which pictures to showcase, but I think this is a good sampling.

Surrounded by flowers.

Watching some cheese being made.

Singing Irish folk songs.

The original Starbucks, complete with entertainment, the friendliest baristas I've ever met, and the *perfect* hazelnut cappuccino.

Overlooking Puget Sound.

Even the Rockfish thought it was a bit too sunny for Seattle.

Ending our tour of Pike's Place with another charming street musician.

We almost missed our flight so we could see the Space Needle.

Goodbye Seattle!

Roosevelt Island

11 Sep

Spent a few hours walking through Roosevelt Island to snap some shots.

Roosevelt Island

Lots of kayaks and canoes out on the water today.  I felt a little bit like a peeping tom snapping shots from behind the foliage.

The only carved tree on the island.  Something seems to call out to lovers to immortalize their moment here.

The weather was perfect and the trees provided ample shade.  It seemed miles away from the roaring highways and bridges surrounding the island.  There’s even the glimpse of my red brick apartment building peeking out across the river behind the trees.
